Season of the Spirit Day 4
Title: Understanding Our Participation In The World To Come
Theme: Prophets of the World To Come.
Date: 10th May, 2026.
Ministering: Pastor Tosin Gabriel
As I prepared towards the Season of the Spirit, the Lord put in my heart to teach on the world to come, who the prophet of the world to come is, the making of the prophet of the world to come, and our participation in the making of the world to come.
“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.” (Hebrews 2:5). The Apostles were ministers and speakers of the world to come. They were already speaking the world to come as of this time. They understood that the present world is not ours. This present world is the world of angels and not the world of man.
God brought man to this world to be built for the world to come. Even if Adam had not commit any sin and Lucifer had not fallen into sin, this world wouldn’t still have been our world. This world would have still been taken away because this world is inferior to the person of God (Revelations 21:1).
“In the beginning God created heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) This world was not created by Satan, but by God. There is a world Satan created, which is the system of the world as we see it now and there is a world God created, which are the strata of heaven and earth. This is the world scriptures calls ‘before the world began’ (Titus 1:2). Before the world began means heaven and earth became visible. God promised Eternal Life before He ventured into creating heaven and the earth.
“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (John 17: 4-5). The glory Jesus had with God before the world was, is the glory of Eternal Life. The person of God is the Eternal God. God did not create as Eternal God, but as the everlasting God.
There is no creation in the eternal world. In eternity, the entities of the Godhead are self-existing and are not bounded by time (Isaiah 40:28). The Eternal God had to condescend to everlasting estate for the purpose of creation. It is the humility of God that made Him to condescend to everlasting estate. If God had created all things in His eternal estate, everything created will be eternal (Psalm 113:6).
This present world consists of first heaven and the earth, and it was designed to serve a purpose. God’s true intention is for a world where He will manifest Eternal Life without constraint. This is the world to come; the new heaven and earth which John saw (Revelation 21:1-3)
John was taken to the aisle of Patmos to be made a prophet of the world to come. John did not only hear of the world to come but he also saw it (Revelation 1:2). The same way some men have seen the reality of the present heaven and don’t want to come back, God is also going to bring us to see the reality of the world to come, where we will be fully drawn.
“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” (Revelation 21: 3). It is only the world to come that can take the full expression of God. Our transition to glory is to move into the world to come. Even when a man goes to the present heaven, such a man has not gone home; our home is the world to come. When we come into this reality, this present will be inferior to us.
God’s mind is to raise men in the present to a stature such that the present will be inferior to them. God achieved that with Jesus and that is the boast of God that man can be raised to be better than this present world. Jesus could say that His words could endure beyond the present(“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. He could say this because He had the building of the world to come” (Matthew 24:35). Jesus had the building that was beyond the present.
“And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.” (Isaiah 51:16). God began to introduce the thoughts of the world to come significantly through Prophet Isaiah. Some believe that this present world will only undergo a renewal but it’s not so. God is not going to renew the present heavens and the earth, rather, God is going to change it completely.
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” (Isaiah 65:17). A man can be in the present and not be drawing life from the present. Jesus Christ said“… I am no more in the world..” (John 17:11). To be free from the present, a man would require a lot of circumcision, because the present is a grip that Satan made. Satan took advantage of the world to make it a grip upon man.
Jesus Christ in the days of His flesh transacted with the new heaven and the new earth, hence why He could speak of the passing of the heaven and earth (Matthew 5:18). The book of Hebrews can be considered the thesis of the world to come. The book of Hebrews references that Jesus was made higher than the present heavens (Hebrews 7:26).
“And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.” ( Hebrews 1:6). Jesus being brought into the world as the first begotten could not have been when He was born of the virgin birth. This most certainly points to when Jesus resurrected from the dead.
“So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.” (Hebrews 5:5). Having a sight of the day Jesus was declared as the begotten of God could have only been by the eyes of prophecy. Jesus was begotten in another world, which is the world ordained for man from the beginning.
Angels were not there when Jesus was begotten of God (Hebrews 1:5). No angel could access or interact with the world to come. Jesus became the begotten of the Father in the world to come and after He had been begotten, He was brought into the present.
“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.” (Hebrews 4:14). If scriptures tells us that Jesus passed through the heavens, it means angels in the present heaven must have known when He was being built. Angels knew when He moved past them and entered into the unknown world. It was in the unknown world that the Father begat Him.
The unknown world is unrestricted by time. It is always “Today” in the world to come, and when Jesus was brought back, angels saw Him and they knew He was so much better than them and so they worshipped Him not because they were told to but because they knew.
God could have kept Jesus in the world to come but God brought him back into this world for the sake of man (John 3:16). God brought Jesus back so that He can bring many sons unto glory (Hebrews 2:10). There is a world that is better than the present and it is no longer far away. This world is in Jesus Christ, who is of the world to come. He has come to this present world to take us to the world to come.
The present world is this present world arrangement but the world to come is the new heavens and new earth. The good news is that we do not need to die to make it to the world to come, although there will be a literal and a physical world to come, and this means this present world arrangement will be folded up as a vesture and dissolved (Hebrews 1:12).
When Jesus said “how hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom….” (Mark 10:24-35), He was speaking concerning the difficulty of the rich letting go of their possession in this present world. It is for this reason, that no matter how blessed we are in the natural, we must remain poor in the spirit (Mathew 5:3).
The present heaven and earth is aging and according to scriptures, they shall perish (Hebrews 1:10-12). Angels that have known heaven know that heaven is reducing in quality. This is because what is being taught in this message is also affecting the heavens as the things being spoken are the words of the High priest.
Angels know that there is time no longer and so, they are investing in the world to come by being ministers to the heirs of the world to come (Hebrews 1:14). Angels know that the world to come shall be the kingdom of men because this present kingdom is their kingdom.
We are to give earnest heed to the things of the world to come (Hebrews 2:1-3). Things of the world to come can slip from our hands because of the pressure of this present world. Our only escape from perishing is through the message of great salvation. It is possible to neglect matters of salvation because of the pressure of this present world. Satan is making many believers neglect salvation by ignorance.
“The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,” (Acts 1:1). Jesus in the days of his flesh was speaking and doing the things concerning so great salvation. Jesus was doing the world to come, it was not automatic for Him. He did it, He obeyed it and He attained unto it. That is the way of a priest, as it is in Ezra 7:10 “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.”
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.” (Hebrews 2:3-5) This scripture shows that the world to come that is being spoken of is not subject to angels. Hence, a man of the world to come must have the heavens and earth of the world to come inside him.
In the world to come, the memories of the present world will be gone because the world to come is an arrangement of the Everlasting and Eternal world. Our placement in the literal new heavens and earth will be according to the proportion of the world to come that we have received here on earth.
A cherub is the peak of the present. Inside a Cherub is the heaven and the earth of the present. They are the highest of the present. A cherub is a prince that holds all the materials of the present heaven and earth. They are the highest creatures of the present world and they are higher than all cadres of angels. They can enter into any aspect of the present and function without any restraint. Angels are carriers of resources because the present is in their hands.
The strength of Satan is that he has the present heaven and earth inside of him as a Cherub. The fallen heavens and earth is inside Satan, that is the world he created. When he fell, the heaven and earth inside him became a shadow over man (Galatians 1:4, Isaiah 25:7). The world that is inside Satan hijacked man’s growth and ascension, and man began to serve the world and live by the hope that Satan painted. Every ambition of man is a fallen heaven.
“So who are prophets of the world to come?”
The season of the spirit this year is a significant landmark for us to distinguish between the office of a prophet and the prophetic nature. The Prophetic nature is higher than the prophetic office. The prophetic office is supposed to grow people into attaining prophetic nature. A man might not hold a microphone or be a preacher and yet become a prophet of the world to come.
1. Prophets of the World to come are seers by understanding. Prophets in the old testament were seers (they could have out of the body visions) but never had understanding of it.
An example was Daniel who saw many things, then he prayed for understanding but he was told that those things were closed to him (“And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end” Daniel 12:8-9).
Jesus confirmed this that many prophets and righteous men longed to see and understand these things but it was not given to them (“For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”Matt 13:17). They were prophets without understanding.
Zechariah in all his experiences troubled the angel with the question, “what meaneth this my Lord?” (Zechariah 5:6, 10). John on the other hand didn’t need to ask about what he was seeing when he was in the isle of Patmos because he understood what he was seeing.
2. Prophets of the World to come are keepers and doers of those things of God i.e. things of the world to come revealed by understanding. Anything that is seen by understanding becomes commodities that can be kept and used by doing (James 1:22).
James was warning the church that were being brought into the fellowship of the world to come (“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”- James 1:22). “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” (Revelation 22:14 ) A man can be keeping commandment and yet not doing the commandment. This is not limited to prophetic office. Everyone hearing these are prophets, but we need to do them to become full blown prophets.
3. Prophets of the world to come are Witnesses. They are witnesses of things they have seen by revelation, which are the things which they are keeping and doing. We can’t keep and do commandments unless we see by understanding. It is in doing those things that a man becomes a witness of those things. A Witness is one who has become the same with the message. A witness is a representation of what is being heard and does it. We do to become.
4. Prophets of the world to come are overcomers. We see by understanding. What we see is what we keep and do, and as we do, we become witnesses. A man cannot become an overcomer overnight “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Revelation 12:11).
A prophet of the world to come is an overcomer because he has overcome the present. The word of the testimony of overcomers is their witness. Overcoming the present is what makes a man a prophet of the world to come.
5. The prophet of the world to come are Princes. Every Son of God in the present is a Prince. Angels are the sons of God in the present and they are also princes
Daniel 10:13
“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.”
Michael was one of the chief princes as we see from Daniel 10:13. Princes are sons of the present and the chief princes are higher sons of the present. (“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,”- Revelation 1:5). A prince is a full son of God and a prophet. Angels of the present are prophets of the present world, they have prophetic nature inside of them.
“…And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.” (Exodus 3:1-4). It was not God Himself that Moses saw at the burning bush but an angel.
Similarly, the experience of John in the book of Revelation was as though he was talking to Jesus but it was with the angel of Jesus (Revelations 1:10-13, 17). It is easy to mistake this being talking for Jesus. The angel was talking as the Lord because he has a prophetic nature.
The advantage that Satan has over man is that he is a prophet of the present and his inventions are prophetic in nature, which is why it is so difficult to reject them. However, God’s agenda is to make princes of the world to come. You cannot overcome the prince of this world if you are also not a prince.
A prince is the summary of the sonship of God. A prince is a ruler and commander of the things of God. A prince is a wonder and possessor of the things of God.
We should not merely seek to go into the world to come but much more become holders and possessors of the world to come. This is so that when that world actually comes, it will be subject to us, by reason of us knowing how to function in it, and we will learn that even in this present.
The world to come must become tangible to us. Our placement in the world to come is being determined in this lifetime. The present arrangement is a mirror of the world to come, it is not the full image, but a mirror of another world.
There are angels that are in the earth, first heaven, second heaven and the third heaven and their placement depends on how much of the present heaven that is in them. For instance, a seraphim who is an angel of the second heaven cannot function (minister) in the third heaven. There is also a different order of ministry with which the Cherubims of the third heaven operate; All angels do not minister to God at the same level.
Many Christians by virtue of being born again will be in the earth of the world to come and not in the new heavens because they lack the materials of the world to come. Our placement in the world to come is how much we allow God to work in our soul in this present world.
From the new birth, we become a new man. That new man is the man that qualifies for the things of the world to come. The new man is not yet a full man of the world to come. The new man must still attain unto fullness (“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”- Colossians 3:10). The new man still needs to be renewed in knowledge because there is still more to be added to the new man.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again….If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?” (John 3:3-12). Jesus was describing the arrangement of the world to come to Nicodemus. He was not speaking of the present earth or heaven but that which is to come.
The earth of the world to come has its things such as being born again and further being born by water and spirit, which is the sealing of the earth of the world to come. There are also things of the heavens of the world to come (“That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”– John 3:15-16)
Eternal life is the highest expression of the world to come. Moses being a prophet had a journey in the spirit. At the end of his pilgrimage, he made a profound statement (“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”- Deuteronomy 33:27). Moses broke through to know that God is Eternal. Moses asked God for a revelation of His face, but God gave him the revelation of His back.
The back of God which was revealed to Moses was a revelation of a journey to the beginning of creation and by reason of that revelation, he was able to write about the beginning because God took him back and he was able to see Adam in the garden and the age of the sons of God.
Moses by seeing the back of God had such great intelligence to see the present world. Moses was asking for the world to come but John moved further than Moses to see it. John had a more accurate revelation of the beginning because he was able to pierce through into a higher realm to see the beginning of beginnings.
Moses gave an account of the hope of the Eternal God being our refuge (Deuteronomy 33:27). This pattern was also maintained by Jesus inJohn 3:15-16. The everlasting being under the eternal promise of God (“That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:15-16)
To be built as a prophet of the world to come is to first become a new man. This is the beginning of the building of the prophet of the world to come and then making the soul new by being born of water and spirit (John 3:5). At our new birth, we had new spirits but old souls. Our placement in the world to come is by the quality or stature of our soul in the present.
The teaching of Christ is necessary to give us the capacity to receive the things of the world to come inside our soul. Christ is the earth of the world to come. When we put on Christ, we are having the earth of the world to come. To change a man from being carnal to spiritual is to move things of the earth of the world to come into his soul.
The new man is the foundation of the building of the prophets of the world to come. Jesus, in analysing the structure of the world to come knew that the things He was saying in John 3 were beyond the understanding of Nicodemus but He kept on advancing His thoughts because He knew that prophets of the world to come would interpret and understand it. To function in the world to come, a man must understand and have charity in the present world. Charity makes you a functional being in the earth of the world to come. Charity kills the hold of the present world inside of us.
When we have put on Christ inside our soul, we have secured the earth of the world to come in our soul. There are however still things of the heaven of the world to come to secure. This is the major work that God is doing amongst us And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18). Fathering is to bring the soul into the heaven of everlasting righteousness which is the first heaven.
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.”- Hebrews 12:6). The scourging of the Father is the detachment of the soul from the hold of the present. Even if we have Christ in our soul, the Father can still see the present in us and this limits our ascension in the world to come. God scourges us by severing us from the present world. These weaknesses are the things that limit our transition.
Whatever makes us trust anything of the present world (such as money, intelligence, attainment) must be removed before we can ascend into the heavens of the world to come. The things being emphasised in the community are blessings of the age to come. We must not be weary of all these transitions. The word of God is the material to Father the soul. The word of God is to sanctify us from this world “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:16-17).
Fellow servants use the word of God to be sanctified and separated from the world. Prophets of the world to come begin with testimony of Jesus, but we cannot receive it without being separated from the hope of the present world.
If we still have subtle hope in this present world, the ministry of the word will expose us “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:12-13.)
The word of God exposes our secret desires, pursuits, intent, motives and secret hopes. It is to the end that we are good in our heart. The heart of man is desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). It is only the word of God that can know the heart, sanctify it and make it good. It is the word of God that makes us servants after which we can then receive materials that can make us prophets of God. These materials are what is called testimony of Jesus.
Those who were being referred to as ‘My brethren the prophets’ are those who have the testimony of Jesus (Revelation 22:9). Inside the testimony is the law of the Son of God. The testimony is a proceed of covenant. The law is what teaches us how to disengage from the covenants of hell and death.
Hell and death are fallen heavens of Satan. Hell and death are hopes and pursuits of men. This is why when the son of perdition (the beast) is made manifest in the earth, many men will be drawn and follow after him “And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” (Revelation 13:3).
The law is the proceed of the testimony “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” (Psalm 19:7. The law must fall upon the table of a heart that is good. This is where a prophet is made. Prophets house everlasting treasures in their souls. Such good heart converted by the word of God is what can house the blessings of the world to come.
The law contained in the testimony is for us to make a covenant with God. Everything in the present is no longer ours when we have come to a covenant with God. The law trains our heart, changing the texture of our soul to become fully compatible with the world to come.
The end of the testimony of Jesus is to give us our own testimony. Our testimony is that we should become incorruptible(“To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,”- 1 Peter 1:4). The testimony of Jesus is that He is incorruptible, undefiled and unfading. This is a description of a soul that remains relevant even when heaven and earth (the present) passes away.
To become a prophet of the world to come, we must have righteousness by the teaching of Christ, holiness of God that comes by the fathering of Jesus, and the testimony of Jesus to have full salvation which is called incorruptible, undefiled and unfading.
There are things we need with understanding which is the spirit of repentance and the spirit of obedience. Refusing repentance is to refuse our placement in the world to come. Jesus kept coming to the seven churches telling them to repent (Revelations 2:5). Many of the churches did not repent and their lampstand was removed. When the era of the beast came, they were overwhelmed. The beast was already a prophet of Satan, which gave him an advantage over them.
Many believers in the early times broke the trust in brotherhood for the promise of gain and profit in this present world. Any time the Lord brings us a commandment and we see ourselves failing to measure up, the first thing we need to have is a spirit of repentance. We must not excuse our insufficiencies. We must have a heart of repentance. We must not trade on blame. We are being warned ahead because the war is still ahead. Our community must not be broken in the face of adversity.
We must also have the spirit of obedience which is that we must exercise ourselves in righteousness of what we are hearing. Every obedience we do is giving us a stake in the world to come. Our love is positioning us for better placement in the world to come.
May we receive grace to obey and be raised as prophets of the world to come.
Amen.
Message Ends.
